This series is inspired by the the story of Sisyphus, the most human of heroes, who wanted to cheat death and was punished for it. The title is also the last sentence of Albert Camus's essay The Myth of Sisyphus. Vesuvius is also the traditional setting for Sisyphus ' punishment
