Lost in the shell

Tourism is a controversial subject; too many tourists are as damaging as the lack of them. Mass tourism is creating tension with locals and draining local resources. half to two-thirds of tourism will have to disappear if we are going to keep these places sustainable. Yet most of the world's best-known touristic places have no alternative. Simply removing tourists is not the easy answer we'd like to believe.
